With the score line at two nil at half time, Chelsea and Manchester United, both, conducted various changes at the half time break.
The home side brought off John O’Shea and replaced the Irishman with Johnny Evans at the left back position.

The Ivorian striker was about to unleash a shot at Edwin Van der Sar’s goal but Johnny Evans nicked the ball from him with a timely tackle inside his team’s penalty area.
In the 53rd minute, Manchester United had a legitimate claim for penalty kick as Frank Lampard handled the ball inside Chelsea’s penalty area.
The English midfielder stopped http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863’s cross with his forearm but referee Howard Webb failed to spot the illegal infringement as he waved away the protests from Manchester United’s players and the home crowd.
In the 62nd minute, Chelsea went all out for the attack as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 was thrown into the fray by Carlo Ancelotti.

In the 64th minute, Howard Webb was called upon to make another match altering decision but the Englishman got it wrong once more.

The English national team captain committed to a clumsy tackle on Valencia but luckily for the away side, Webb failed to spot the foul as the score line remained at two nil.
Chelsea’s main problem in the second half remained the lack of width on both sides of the field.
Ashley Cole remained subdued in possession as he was preoccupied with Antonio Valencia’s pace down the right hand side.
On the other end, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Branislav-Ivanovic-c7994 was given ample time on the ball by Manchester United but his distribution and crossing in the final third of the field left much to be desired by the Blues.
