Manchester United vs Everton – Match Preview: English Premier League
The English Premier League resumes on Saturday afternoon with Manchester United’s matchup against Everton at Old Trafford. The Red Devils will definitely look to bounce back from their nil all draw in mid-week against Newcastle
United whereas Everton will also go all out for a win at the theatre of dreams as their away form has been impressive of late. Let’s take a look at how both the teams might line up on the 23rd of April, 2011:
Manchester United
After failing to win in their last two matches, Manchester United will be ready to get back to their winning ways against Everton. Sir Alex Ferguson’s team have been impervious at their home turf this season as they have played
17 league fixtures at Old Trafford and lost none. Their only blip came against West Bromwich Albion earlier on in the season when the home side drew against the Baggies.
With a six point lead over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and Arsenal already, Manchester United can open up a potentially nine point gap by Sunday if other results go their way. The encounter against Everton has in all reality turned into a must win
one for United if they intend to march onto their 19th league title in May. With ties against Arsenal at Emirates stadium and against Chelsea at Old Trafford coming up, Ferguson will be pushing his men to gain all three points against Everton to
give them a comfortable margin of error.
Everton
Currently seventh in the English Premier League table, the Toffees have seen a bright patch of form of late under David Moyes. After starting the season in bad form, Everton have recovered over the second part of the Premier League
season in order to gain a Europa League place. The men in blue have not won at Old Trafford in their last 17 trips but they did hold Manchester United to a three all draw earlier on in the season by fighting their way back from a two goal deficit at Goodison
Park.
Everton have won three and drawn two out of their last five league fixtures. Additionally, the Merseyside minnows won their last Premier League tie against Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 by two goals to nil. Everton will be a tough match for
Sir Alex’s side but whether the Toffee’s have enough quality in the squad to overpower the mighty Red Devils remains questionable.
Team News
Manchester United’s only real injury concern before the tie against Everton remains their Scottish midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Darren-Fletcher-c10361. The energetic playmaker has been sidelined for over a month now with a virus. Other than that, Owen
Hargreaves and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Anders-Lindegaard-c5553 remain long term injury casualties for the Red Devils.
Expected Manchester United line up: Edwin Van der Sar, Rafael da Silva, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736.
Alternatively, Everton have several injury worries as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mikel-Arteta-c25715 due to their respective fitness issues.
Expected Everton line up: http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diniyar-Bilyaletdinov-c11318, Seamus Coleman, Jermaine Beckford
Prediction
Everton will provide a stern test for the champions elect but Manchester United rarely falter in their home stadium.

Prediction: 2-0 to Manchester United
