Manchester United vs. Chelsea preview, English Premier League
Manchester United manager Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson revealed he had not written Chelsea off and expected them to present a tough challenge for the title. Even though the Blues have not had as good a start to the season as Manchester United and Manchester City, Ferguson
was certain the London side would improve as the season progressed.
Ferguson was certain the game on Sunday would be highly entertaining, with previous fixtures between the two sides proving to be extremely close. Last season the Red Devils got the better of Chelsea, defeating them in the UEFA Champions League and the English
Premier League fixture at Old Trafford.
Ferguson said in an interview:
“It will be a fantastic game.
The games between both sides over the last seven years have been very close affairs. There is usually just one goal in it and it will be very tight on Sunday again.”
Manchester United midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Darren-Fletcher-c10361 agreed with Ferguson and felt that the Blues were still a top side. He felt their squad had been strengthened during the summer transfer window, with the arrival of younger players who were bound to make a difference
to the “ageing squad”.
Fletcher said:
“Chelsea are a top side, with a lot of experience. They have a new manager and have brought in some younger, fresher, exciting players.”
The new Chelsea manager, Andre Villas-Boas, has refused to be drawn into Ferguson’s mind games and instead played down the importance of the clash at Old Trafford. He did not think the game against Manchester United was important than any other game this
season.
Villas-Boas revealed:
“Anything that comes out of this game won't mean anything.
It might play to the motivation to the team who wins, or both if we draw, but let's wait and see.”
