Manchester United vs Liverpool- FA Cup Preview

A feisty show-down is expected as the two arch rivals, Manchester United and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809, face off on Sunday in the FA cup tie. This is easily the pick of the fixtures and Manchester United would be flying high with excellent form. Manchester United are also
being dubbed as the favourites to win the title this season to beat Liverpool’s record of 18 league titles.
The Red Devils are coming off a morale boosting 2-1 win against Stoke City, while Liverpool were beaten 3-1 in their last game. However, the Reds have a number of other problems to deal with such as the job of their manager. Roy Hodgson has been under the
cosh and is likely to be axed soon.
Whenever these two teams meet, there is a lot of action and nothing less is to be expected this time, despite contrasting fortunes for the two teams. The last time these two played in an FA cup tie was in 2005-06 season, when Liverpool came out 1-0 winners,

Manchester United has had a turbulent season; they did not start that well but were still steady enough to bounce back when it really mattered. United were finding it hard to get wins away from home and many had already handed the title to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 in the
first 3 weeks. It is phenomenal how things can change in the Premier League. United are well on course to win the league while Chelsea linger in the 5th spot, barely hanging on. United have lost just one game this season in all competitions and
that was in the Carling Cup, when they were beaten by West Ham. Other than that they have been going strong and are expected to overcome Liverpool. United boss, Sir Alex Ferguson is not expected to take it easy, especially considering how much playing a 2nd
string side cost him last season. Leeds beat Manchester United at the same stage last year and Ferguson has made it clear that he will not make the same mistake again.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dimitar-Berbatov-c11254 is also expected to start and the hat-trick he scored against the Reds back in September may play a big
psychological role for him. United are also expected to have http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-c13152 De Silva, on the opposite flank.
Liverpool, on the other end, may probably value the game even more than United, as they are sitting at the 12th spot in the league and finishing even 4th this season looks like a stretch. So beating United may just be the only worthwhile
thing they might be able to salvage from the tough season.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707, Liverpool's highest scorer for the last 3 seasons has not been in great touch since coming back from injury. The Spaniard has been trying hard but
hasn't been able to knock in much goals, but he would love to start against United, especially with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nemanja-Vidic-c27550 playing. Torres has caused Vidic some problems in the past and thus would be looking to make use of the mental edge on the Serbian.
On their current form, Manchester United should be clear favourites, but once again it has to be mentioned that a match between two teams with 18 league titles each to their name can never be taken lightly. A heated encounter is to be expected and neither
of the teams will be looking for a draw.
