Manchester United vs Sunderland- first half report

Manchester United ended the first half against Sunderland one goal to the good, but looking at the 45 minutes in totality, the half time score line may be exhilerating for Sunderland. It was complete domination from the Red Devils
and they should have scored at least 2 more goals in the first period.
Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, started with an attacking yet conventional 4-4-2 formation. Edwin Van Der Sar was in goal as usual, Rafael De Silva kept his place on the right in defence and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Patrice-Evra-c29231 was on the opposite
side. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ryan-Giggs-c31985 were in the center. While in attack it was Wayne Rooney partnering Dimitar Berbatov.
As the game started there was no time to get accustomed to the conditions as United went on the surge; Ryan Giggs rolled back the years with a fine run and he fed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dimitar-Berbatov-c11254, who headed home at the
far post unmarked. It was a silky move that resulted in a well deserved goal just in the 4th minute. The signs were ominous for Sunderland and Manchester United looked in their elements.
Moments later Wayne Rooney, drifted a fine attempted lob just over the bar, as he saw the keeper off his line but it went just wide. Dimitar Berbatov went even closer to a second as he lashed a drive against the foot of the post from
just inside the box. Sunderland was all over the place.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Craig-Gordon-c9476 proved to be Sunderland's saviour, getting down low to beat Ryan Giggs's 16-yard snap-shot round the right post after some good work from his strike partner Wayne Rooney.
After almost half an hour of constant pressure where United dominated but still had just one goal to show for, Sunderland finally managed to tighten up their defense. Just at the tail end of the first half, Sunderland did get some
encouragement and pushed United back to some degree, but just as the team looked to be coming back with an equilizer, the half came to an end.
Manchester United would be looking to get one more quick goal in the 2nd half and put this game to bed, or nightmares of early part of the season may come back to haunt them.
