The player initially suffered a break in his ankle ligaments, when representing the Red Devils in a Champions League match against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 in September. The team doctor is quoted to have said: "[His opponent] stepped on his foot and very nearly fractured it again"
"He has a bruise on the spot where he has a titanium plate, he couldn't put his weight on his foot, but the swelling has gone down about 40% since Sunday."

This latest injury to the United midfielder is rather concerning for both his country and his club. In the past, the winger has had a near impeccable career, with close to no injuries occurring along the way.
However, it seems like his first serious injury has gone on to pave way for a series of injuries. Valencia’s game is greatly reliant on his pace and his ability to constantly dart forward and whip in brilliant crosses and in order for him to continue doing
that, he needs to keep his ankles as fit as he can.
The player seems to be dangling on a very fine line moment and should really try to rest his ankle, as opposed to rushing into action for Ecuador.
Nonetheless, Manchester United seem to have a decent back-up plan now, even if Valencia does end up seriously injuring himself again. With http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863.
However, in order to save his career, Valencia should seriously try and let his ankle get back to a 100% or he might just risk an early retirement.
