Manchester United winger Luis Nani delighted to be in Professional Footballers' Association team of the year
Manchester United’s Luis Nani has gone on to express his appreciation for being nominated in the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) Premier League team of the year. The player who has had a rather impressive season with United, made the final eleven
alongside Edwin van der Sar, Nemanja Vidic and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dimitar-Berbatov-c11254, who are also his teammates at United.
When addressing his fans on Twitter, the player is quoted to have said, "I'm very proud to be named to PFA Team of the Year. Being part of this great club brings great responsibility and great achievements."
Despite being included in the team of the year, the player was previously quite furious with the fact that he was not nominated to win the player of the year award – which was eventually lifted by Tottenham Hotspur’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422.
So far this season, Nani has been rather brilliant. The player has gone on to make 28 appearances in the League and has scored an impressive nine goals, while picking up an astounding fourteen assists along the way. Due to these very stats, it still seems
rather unclear as to why Nani was not even nominated for the individual award.
However http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Owen-c25355, another one of Nani’s teammates, has gone on to state that perhaps the reason for the flawed system is because everyone goes on to cast their votes a little too early.
The striker in reported to have said, "I voted for Nasri as player of the first 6 months year and Wilshere [http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jack-Wilshere-c17463] young player of the year. We definitely vote too early."
Bale, despite being good this season, has been no where as good as Nani. In the 26 appearances that the Welshman made in the league for Tottenham Hotspur, he scored seven times, while picking up one assist along the way. As a result, the stats are fairly
obvious for anyone to see and then decide on their own as to who deserved to be player of the year.
However, what this award is really going to do is aid all the theories that render the Football Association (FA) as a biased organization which only favours players from the United Kingdom and at the moment, there is very little that the FA can do to defend
themselves.
The complete PFA Premier League team of the year is as follows: Edwin Van Der Sar, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Samir-Nasri-c32360, Jack Wilshere, Gareth Bale, Carlos Tevez and Dimitar Berbatov.
