Manchester United’s Champions league victory riddled with injuries
Manchester United’s manager Alex Ferguson has gone ahead and stated that both Luis Nani and Daren Fletcher will both be missing out on the team’s weekend clash against Wolves.
Both the players picked up their injuries in United’s Champions League match against Bursaspor. Despite winning the game by three goals to nil, two of the teams most used players so far this season picked up injuries, which changed the
emotions on the night once the game concluded.
Alex Ferguson stated:
"Unfortunately, Nani has a groin injury and is out for Saturday"
"I think Darren will be out as well, so that part has been disappointing.
"It is disappointing but these things happen in football. We may have Darron Gibson back after a bout of flu but Anderson has had a virus as well and I don't think he will be ready."
However all hope was not lost by the United manager. Despite losing out on the team’s best wide man for the upcoming game, the manager has insisted that he can place his faith in both the team’s back up wingers.
Both Gabriel Obertan and Bebe managed to score goals in the team’s midweek Champions League clash and looked to finally overcome their nerves and pressure that came along.
Obertan manager to score his first United goal, in what was his second start ever for a United game. On the other hand Bebe managed to follow up on his brilliant display in the teams Carling Cup clash, by scoring a brilliant goal in the
game as well.
Ferguson was reported to have said: "Gabriel has been derailed quite a bit by injury"
"It has been a problem for the lad. He had two or three last season and then picked up another in Texas this pre-season that kept him out for five or six weeks.
"But he is back now and as he showed tonight, he has fantastic talent."
On the other hand, Ferguson signed Bebe without ever actually watching the player play a competitive game, despite that the manager is convinced that the player has great potential that is just waiting to be tapped.
"He is a good, young player who still has a lot to learn," he added
"He still needs a lot of coaching but the raw talent is there. He is brave and quick, and for such a young player he is a good decision maker.
"The chances of him being able to realise his potential are very good."
Clearly the United manager has blind faith in his team though at times that is all that it takes to motivate players and get the best out of them. The manager has proven time and time again that he has a unique eye for spotting some of
the best talent around and he seems to have potentially struck goal once again.
