Manchester United’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-Scholes-c29394 bows out in style as he helps United to a win in Testimonial game
Following his admission to wanting to retire from football, Manchester United legend, Paul Scholes finally bowed out in style, as he helped the Red Devils cruise past the New York Cosmos by a score line of six goals to nil.
The midfielder was quite simply brilliant during the game and went on to score the opening goal of the game, in signature Scholes fashion. After a short corner, the ball was played to the midfielder outside the area and he then went on to cannon a shot into the back of the net, leaving the keeper with no chance of stopping the ball.
Following the conclusion of the game, a rather humble Scholes was quoted to have said: “I'm glad it's all over”
On the other hand, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson went on to claim the game to be a very sad night, as it marked the end of the era of one of the greatest midfielders to ever play the game of football.
New York Cosmos went on to make a couple of one day signings, as they had the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gary-Neville-c14447 in their squad for the game.
Despite the Cosmos being so star studded, they just couldn’t contain Scholes and United on the night. The Red Devils ran the show and went on to cruise to a six goal to nil victory.
Following the conclusion of the game, Untied paid his last tribute to the fans as a player, as he took a lap of honour around the pitch and stated that he hoped to have given the United fans a few decent memories to remember him by.
Nonetheless, with Scholes now done with playing football on a regular basis, it seems like he might just end up pursuing a completely different path all together.  The midfielder had previously suggested that he was going to be part of the United coaching staff over the coming months and should things go according to those plans, he will be back at Old Trafford sooner rather than later.
Nonetheless, Scholes’s departure marks the end of a legacy, that would be impossible to replicate ever again. The midfielder has the greatest passing range ever seen in a player and had the ability to put the ball into the back of the net from almost anywhere.
The fact that players like Zidane and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thierry-Henry-c34918 labelled the player as the greatest they had ever played, just goes to show how great he really was.
