Manchester United’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rio-Ferdinand-c31173 says semi-final spot is not yet assured: UEFA Champions League

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has warned his team-mates that the Champions League quarter-final tie against Chelsea is far from over.
The Red Devils have one foot in the semi-finals, thanks to a 1-0 away win at Stamford Bridge in the first leg of the contest, but defender Rio Ferdinand believes that his side’s progression in the tournament is hardly assured.
Speaking after Manchester United’s important victory on Wednesday, the England international said, “Of course the job is not done. Tuesday is another game. If it is as open as the first one was maybe that will suit us.”
Ferdinand knows that the Red Devils only need a draw at Old Trafford to secure a place in the semi-finals of the Champions League, but the defender claims that his side will be going all out to win at their home ground.
He added, “But we will be setting our stall out to win. We are a positive side. We don't go into matches to draw."
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international has been plagued with injury problems throughout the season. Wednesday’s match at Stamford Bridge was Ferdinand’s first appearance for United in almost two months, but despite his lengthy absence from first-team football, he claimed
that he felt no pressure as he stepped onto the pitch against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786.
Ferdinand said, “I didn't feel any pressure or nerves. You are doing what you love. I wake up every morning wanting to play football. To come out and play at stadiums like Stamford Bridge does not make me nervous, it makes me want to try and get the right
result for my team.”
After the match, Ferdinand admitted that Chelsea might easily have been awarded a late penalty for Patrice Evra’s tackle on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ramires-c30523, but the defender claimed that his side deserved to walk away from Stamford Bridge with a one-goal lead. He believes that
the Blues have been lucky against United on more than a few occasions, and it’s about time that the Red Devils had a few important decisions go their way.
Manchester United currently lead the Barclays Premier League standings with 66 points.
