Manchester United’s Ryan Giggs unknowingly breaks another club record

landmark in his illustrious career.
Giggs was undoubtedly the man of the match over both encounters against Chelsea. The midfielder created all three of his side’s goals to help United overcome the Blues 3-1 on aggregate.
Manchester United are now through to the semi-finals of the Champions League, where they will face Schalke 04. The Red Devils are also in strong positions in both the Premier League and FA Cup.
In fact, should United manage to keep their consistency, they are firm favourites to win the treble in the ongoing 2010-11 season. If they manage to pull it off, it would be a significant milestone in the club’s history.
Midfielder Ryan Giggs broke Laurent Blanc’s record of being United’s oldest outfield player in European competitions in the quarter-final against Chelsea, but he insists he is not concerned about reaching that landmark in his career. He claims that the club’s
milestones matter, rather than any personal achievements.
Speaking after the match, Giggs said, “I wasn't aware of this latest one. It will soon be forgotten. I am just pleased to be involved in performances like this one. The quarter-finals of the Champions League - you want to play in these games. And when you
finish, these are the games that you are going to miss.”
Even at the age of 37, Ryan Giggs is still a force to be reckoned with. The midfielder has been one of United’s most influential players in the current season, and he shows no signs of slowing down. Giggs has now set his sights on the FA Cup clash against
Manchester City on Sunday.
The Welshman said, “It is what you want at this stage of the season - big game after big game. You don't get many bigger than the semi-finals of the FA Cup at Wembley against City. We will be up for that and we can't wait.”
Manchester United are currently leading the race for the Premier League title with 69 points.
