Manchester United’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 can win the Premier League this season
Manchester United striker and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international, Wayne Rooney has gone on to state that he strongly feels that Liverpool can finally break their slump and contest for the Premier League title.
United went on to break Liverpool’s 18 League title record, as they secured their 19th English League crown this past season. However, from the way Liverpool have been rebuilding their squad, it seems like they are coming to reclaim their spot on top of the English league throne.
Rooney, when talking about Liverpool and their potential threat for the upcoming season is quoted to have said: "I think they will challenge this time. They have made some really good signings, British players, and under Kenny Dalglish I'm sure they will be trying harder than they ever have done, fighting to be up there. They will think they have a chance of winning the title next season.”
The striker then went on to narrow down the horizon and predicted the teams that he felt would be battling for the top honours in the league.
"The main ones [challengers to United] will be http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429, Liverpool and City. I think one of them will push us as we try to defend our title."
Liverpool have gone on to make a number of signings this year and have so far managed to land Andy Carroll, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Stewart-Downing-c34221. Those five names are hailed to be amongst the best in the business at the moment and with all of them opting to join Liverpool, it can only mean that there is yet something about the Reds.
Liverpool are currently set to miss out on the Champions League this coming season and that can only mean that they will have even more time to focus on the Premier League. The Reds finally have a decent squad on paper and should Kenny Dalglish help them the same way that he has been doing so far, then it is safe to say that Liverpool might just end up contesting for the Premier League crown.
On the other hand, the reigning Champions of England, Manchester United won’t just be looking to let the Reds walk all the way to the top. United have gone on to make some decent additions to their squad and are looking to maintain their spot at the top of the league, for another season running.
As a result, with all the teams looking to peak their potential, it now seems like the Premier League is going to be more hotly contested than it has ever been in the past.
