Manchester United’s Welsh Wizard: Ryan Giggs – Life beyond retirement
Ryan Giggs, the living legend at Manchester United, has finally admitted that he would someday love to be the man managing his beloved club. Giggs has been at the club since he was an 11 year old, and he knows that at the age of
36 his playing days are numbered and he has started thinking about life beyond retirement.  The left winger has been keeping an eye on the future and that is the reason he has been taking UEFA coaching badges.
Ryan Giggs was heavily linked with the Welsh coaching job when John Toshack handed in his resignation. However the left footer ruled himself out of the race and said that it would be some time before he actually he actually starts
managing.
However Giggs did admit that he would love to be in charge of his beloved Wales and Manchester United some day. He also said that he knows he would have to move away from United and start his managerial career somewhere else.
Giggs told The Sun, "I think I will probably finish my career here (at Old Trafford).”
"I am at an age now where it is coming to an end pretty soon. I cannot see myself dropping down leagues and playing at a lesser level.”
Ryan Giggs was part of the so called golden generation at Old Trafford. He was part of the youth team at Old Trafford that won the Youth Cup. Giggs was not the only man in that team; he also had David Beckham, the Neville brothers,
Robbie Savage and Paul Scholes with him. Savage moved on to other clubs but all the rest stayed and made the core foundation of a team that has dominated English football for almost 2 decades.
He reiterated that when he does go into management, he would love to be in charge of his club and country someday. Giggs said that no job is worth doing unless you do it with all your heart. He added that for Wales and Manchester
United he would always pour in his heart and that would make it worth all the hard work.
"If you do decide to go into management, for me the ultimate jobs are Wales and Manchester United, purely because I have played for my country and for the team I supported. Those two would be the best ones for me.”
"If that was to happen I shouldn't think I'd be able to take over straight away. So if I was to go into management I would have to go elsewhere and be very successful - then come back."
The former Wales Captain is the most decorated player in the English Premier League. He has won 11 league titles, 5 FA cups and 2 UEFA Champions’ League trophies with Manchester United.
Giggs also has the great distinction of having scored in every Premier League season and in having also scored in every Champions League campaign save one. It was only in the 2009-2010 season in Europe that he did not score.
Ryan Giggs as a young player had made such an impact in the English Premier League that the English FA had asked him to play for England instead of Wales. However he chose to stick with his homeland and played for Wales.
In his 20 years as a United player, the one goal of his that still stands out is the winner that he scored in a FA cup semi-final replay against Arsenal. The left winger, who had blistering pace in his younger days, took the ball
just behind the centre line and stormed towards the Arsenal goal beating 6 players on his way and then used his left foot to smash it in to the top corner.
Whenever he does decide to call it a day, it would be end of an era and probably the end of a whole generation as Scholes may also be close to hanging his boots. Ferguson is already working hard on building a new team, but it is
unlikely that he would ever be able to replace Giggs.
