Manchester United’s duo, Wes Brown and Michael Carrick believe that winning the Premier League title in the ongoing 2010-11 season will be a perfect gift to the United boss Sir Alex Ferguson.
If the Red Devils are successful in winning the title, they will overtake http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809’s record of 18 titles. Breaking archrival Liverpool’s record will be a special moment for the United team as the rivalry between the two sides is really immense.
United are going neck to neck with Arsenal, who are five points behind the leaders and also have an extra game in hand. The experience of handling the pressure at this stage of the season will play a huge role and Sir Alex is master of winning the titles
from this position. The handling of players and keeping them fresh for important matches will play a huge role in deciding the winner.
When asked about the chances of winning the 19th title Brown said, “It would be amazing for the players and a great feeling for fans, but for me personally, I'd be really pleased for the manager. For him to take us past their record would be brilliant.”
Ferguson is in his 25th year of managerial career with the Red Devils and Brown wants to gift the landmark title to the manager.
On the other, midfielder Michael Carrick is also eager to overtake Liverpool and he believes that if they can win the title it will overshadow their other titles.
“This one would definitely be pretty special. The others are special in their own right, but for everyone at the club and the fans this one would have that little bit more meaning. You can see how much he loves the challenge. He’s been through this so many
times before, he knows exactly what’s required. Sometimes he’ll say things in team-talks to really get you focused, while other times he’ll take the more laidback approach,” said Carrick.
The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder added that the fans need to trust the manager’s judgment because he is a master tactician and knew how to handle different situations.
