Manchester United’s Wes Brown wants to win the Premier League title for Sir Alex Ferguson
Manchester United defender Wes Brown wants the Red Devils to win their 19th Barclays Premier League crown for manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
The Red Devils sit at the summit of the League standings, five points above closest competitors Arsenal. United are currently favourites to go on and win a record breaking 19th Premier League title. Defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wes-Brown-c36791 has set his sights firmly
on achieving that feat, if only to reward manager Sir Alex Ferguson for all that he has done for the club.
Brown said, “It (winning a 19th Premier League trophy) would be amazing for the players and a great feeling for fans. But, for me personally, I'd be really pleased for the manager. For him to take us past their record would be brilliant.”
Ferguson is the most successful manager in the history of the Premier League, and taking the Red Devils to a historic 19th League title will only serve to cement his legendary status in football. Over the course of more than 25 years, Sir Alex
has transformed Manchester United into one of the biggest clubs in the world.
He helped the Red Devils break Liverpool’s hold on the Premier League during the 80’s and 90’s, and if he can lead his men to the trophy in the ongoing 2010-11 season, United will become the most successful club in English history.
Midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Carrick-c25282 believes that it if his side can make it to that milestone, it would eclipse all his previous achievements with the Red Devils.
Carrick said, “This one (Premier League title) would definitely be pretty special. The others are special in their own right, but for everyone at the club and the fans this one would have that little bit more meaning. You can see how much he (Sir Alex) loves
the challenge.”
He added, “He's been through this so many times before, he knows exactly what's required.”
Manchester United have a chance to consolidate their lead at the top of the Premier League table when they go up against West Ham United on Saturday, 2 April, 2011.
