Hi at all!

I would like to find a job in Manchester area and I'd know how far I can search a job in the Great Manchester area, without being too much far from Manchester (where I'm going to search home)?

On wikipedia it results that G M "comprises ten metropolitan boroughs: Bolton, Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford, Wigan, and the cities of Salford and Manchester"

How is the transport system? How much is it easy to reach Manchester from these cities?

And later, which is a good neighborhood in Manchester to find home to live? with facilities and also an area from which is easy to move?

Thanks

  1. I live in Bury, which is a boring sort of town, but OK, I suppose. Of the places you mention, I'd avoid Bolton, Rochdale and Oldham, personally. Just my opinion, obviously.

  2. Depends what you are looking for. Generally the areas north of the city are cheaper than the southern suburbs. Crumpsall, Bowker Vale and Prestwich are northern places on the 'metrolink' line; if you lived in one of these, you can be in town within 20 minutes. Other cheap areas with easy access to the city are Newton Heath, Moston, Blackley and Failsworth. South of the city is more expensive, except for student areas like Rusholme, or council estates. East Manchester, especially the re-development near the Stadium, is improving. Some parts of Salford are a bit rough, but Swinton, Pendlebury and Agecroft are nice

  3. The nicest places to live in Manchester are Moston, Chadderton, Failsworth, there are some lovely homes there + there are new ones being built, great bus, tram and train transport. Good Luck and welcome to Manchester!
