Manchester: why has the metrolink been supended?

As far as I am aware they are doing some maintenance, however there should be a bus service in place to replace it.

A tram derailed on Sunday evening. Services were suspended as there was damage to the power lines, and they had to get a crane in to shift the tram. I think it is back running now.

Wasnt there a Tram  that came off the line yesterday??

Because a tram was derailed, the system had to be shut down until they could bring a crane in to move it. It's operating normally now.

might be because of those new talks about extending the line...maybe they are doing some work on it? or maybe they are waiting to see whether or not people want to improve the metrolink...could be anythin
