Hamburg defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Mancienne-c25332, has dismissed the talk of a possible return to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Michael Mancienne started his football career at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/U-17-Youth-team-c40787 and was promoted to the senior team after eleven years at the club. He only managed to make four appearances for the club’s first team. Opportunities
at the West London club were limited due to the presence of experienced stars in the first team.
He was sent out on loan year in year out, and has had loan spells with Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 and Wolverhampton Wanderers. He spent four years moving from club to club on loan.
After Frank Arnesen’s exit from Chelsea, the defender followed him to Hamburg, who showed considerable amount of interest in signing the 24-year old.
Mancienne’s versatility was the main reason why HSV acquired his services, the former Blues’ defender can play anywhere across the back four and had featured as a defensive midfielder for Wolves on many occasions.
Now the club with whom he spent three seasons on loan are reportedly interested in taking him back to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749.
The HSV centre-back revealed that he was not aware of any reports linking him with a move to the Midlands’ side. He insists that the reports are just rumours.
Mancienne has featured sixteen times for the North http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 club, and has the backing of his club’s sporting director Frank Arnesen, who has a lot of faith in him.
"It's the first time that I am becoming aware of this," the former Chelsea man is quoted as saying in an interview.
The 24-year old insisted that he has a contract with Hamburg which expires in 2015. Despite a tendon injury, he has featured for the first team frequently. The defender maintained that he wants to stay with HSV who gave him a chance
to prove himself.
"I have a contract with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hamburger-SV-c39485 and I really want to stay on at Hamburger SV – definitely," he added.
Even if http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 make a move for the player, he should stay with the Bundesliga side. He will learn a lot from experience in a foreign league as compared to the second tier of English football. Hamburg are famous for breeding young
players, and Mancienne’s decision to stay with the club will aid is development.
