Manchester City boss, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Mancini believes that a failure to win the league title this season could result in his ouster from the Etihad Stadium.
The Eastlands side will take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 in a crunch league game on Sunday, with the Italian having already conceded that his side’s title hopes will end if they lose their game over the weekend.
However, the 47 year old remained hopeful that he will be retained by the club for another couple of seasons, even if his side fails to beat Manchester United in the title race. He pointed out that even though City might end up without silverware this year,
he maintained that the club is headed in the right direction and the trophies will start pouring-in, in the coming seasons.
“I'm sure that this club has arrived at the top. With two or three more players after this year, this club will start to win, and when it starts to win it will win two or three titles every year.”
However, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 mentioned that irrespective of what the owners decide to do with him, he will continue to have good relations with the club’s chairman, Khaldoon al-Mubarak.
"My relationship with Khaldoon is fantastic. If he sacked me at the end of the season or next year, I would say that every manager who works with Khaldoon is very lucky.”
City have shown a significant improvement under Mancini’s management, who took over the club in December 2009 from Mark Hughes. He ended the club’s 35 year long title drought by winning the FA Cup in 2011, and guided his side to a place in the Champions
League, by finishing third in the league during the same year.
Currently, Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson’s side are five points clear of City. Nevertheless, the Italian remained adamant that his side can still close-in the gap on their local rivals, as anything is possible in football.
"In football anything can happen in any moment. This championship can change in one week. The same regarding my future.”
He also drew comparison between City’s current and previous seasons, pointing out that the Eastlands side secured 71 points last season in total, while they have reached the same number of points this season, with seven more games to play.
