Manchester City manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Mancini believes that the league title is slipping away fast from his side’s grasps, after their perfect win record at home came to an end following a 3-3 draw against Sunderland.
The Italian admitted after the match against the Black Cats that the league leaders, Manchester United will probably go on to claim the title if the Red Devils win their next two matches against Blackburn Rovers and Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314.
Currently, City trail their neighbours by two points but United are going to have a say about it on Monday, when they take on Blackburn and will look to extend their advantage to five points against the Citizens.
“If we go eight points behind, then it is finished," http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 said while talking to reporters.
However, the 47 year old predicted that United won’t run away with three points from their visit to Ewood Park, and thought that Blackburn will hold on to a draw against the nineteen times titlists.
"United will draw. Do you want to bet with me? Even if they win, there are another seven games.”
Earlier in the season, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 stunned United 3-2 at Old Trafford, after Yakubu scored two goals for the Lancashire side.
Mancini also highlighted on City’s superb current season, which saw them retain the top spot for almost six months. The Eastland side leads third placed Arsenal by 13 points. Mancini pointed out that a vast gap between his side and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 and Chelsea is
an indicator that the club is on the rise.
"We have 71 points, 13 points ahead of Arsenal and 18 points more than http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786," Mancini said. "I think we have improved from last season.”
He remained hopeful that their local rivals will slip-up during their remaining eight matches and believed his side can still go on to claim the title.
"I believe always that we will win the title and it is important that our players have concentration about this championship."
However, the Red Devils have been in scintillating form in the league, having won 9 of their previous 10 league matches, with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson’s side just dropping two points during this period. Their last defeat in a league game came against Newcastle United
on 4th January at Sports Direct Arena. So far, United has just lost 3 games in their Premier League campaign this season.
United will take on City in a blockbuster fixture at the Etihad Stadium on 30thApril and Mancini stressed the need for his side to recover two points before that crucial game.
