Manchester City manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Adam-Johnson-c3537 needs to improve his performances, if he wants to represent England and get more minutes on the pitch with City.
Over the last season, Johnson has gone on to fall out of the England squad and many feel that this is because of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-c13152 Capello parting ways with the team.
Under Capello, Johnson was a regular part of the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 squad, but with Roy Hodgson coming in and becoming the team’s manager, he failed to make the Euro 2012 team.
It is believed that his absence from the City squad for an awfully long time is the reason behind his snub, by Mancini claims that he has nothing to do with it.
The City boss has insisted that Johnson needs to work on improving his performances if he wants to represent the national squad and thinks that, only if he shows ambition will he get more playing time with the Manchester based club.
After watching the forward score in a recent pre season friendly, Mancini is reported to have said: "Adam is in my plans, It's not my fault he didn't play at the Euros"
"For the national team manager, it's difficult to choose a final squad of 23 players.”
"Adam is a very good player and probably deserved to go, because under Capello he played regularly.”
"But Adam found himself in the same situation as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Micah-Richards-c25259, who is also a good player.”
"Some players seem to think that when they don't play, it's the manager's fault.”
"Adam is good enough to play at a top club, but he has to play at the highest level all the time, not sometimes up and sometimes down."
Johnson has shown that he has the right potential and has the basic skills needed to excel in the future.
It might be best for him to leave City and move elsewhere, where he is guaranteed first team football, since it would help his international career quite a bit.
Nonetheless, it is now up to the player to decide what the future holds in store for him.
