Manchester City’s manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Mancini has gone on to reveal that he is confident his team can progress from the Champions League’s group stages, despite not having the best of starts to their European campaign.
City kicked things off with a loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League, after which they went on to draw their game against Borussia Dortmund.
The team is now going to take on Ajax in their upcoming game, and despite that match also seemingly being a tough one for the team, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 is confident his team will come out on top at the end of the group stage.
The Italian is staying positive and feels that his side had displayed their ability against the big teams, which makes them one of the favourites to progress to the knock out stages.
The City boss, when talking about his team’s chances of progressing from the group stage is reported to have said: "We played against Real in Madrid, so it is difficult not to concede chances and it's important not to concede a lot of shots in Europe.”
"We had a bad game against Dortmund but it is important we don't give away so many chances to score. We don't have experience as a club but all of our players have Champions League experience.”
"Maybe as a club, we need more experience, but we have good players and that's why we should be in the second stage.”
"We still have a chance to go through, but we must take our chances."
This season, City have looked marginally better in the Champions League as compared to last season. The team gave Real Madrid a run for their money, but went on to lose in the death of the game.
Against Dortmund, they proved to be rather lucky, and now with them taking on Ajax, they need to put in a solid performance.
The Dutch side are probably the weakest opponents that City will face in the group of death and for this very reason, they can’t afford to drop any silly points in the game.
It is now a wait to see whether the team makes it out of the group or not.
