Manchester City’s manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 is hoping for his side to put in a near flawless performances against Real Madrid in their upcoming Champions League match, since nothing short of a win would help the team stand a chance of qualifying for the knock
out stage of the competition.
At the moment, City have managed to win only one Champions League game this season. Despite this poor record, the Manchester based club still stand a decent chance of making it to the next round of the competition.
In order to do so, City need to win all their remaining fixtures, while they need to hope that Madrid fail to pick up another point from their remaining games.
Despite this seemingly being rather impossible to do, the fact that City just recently destroyed Aston Villa by five goals to nil, they will have the confidence they need to go into the game on a high, and will look to repeat the same performance from this
past weekend.
"This was a really good performance and result but it will count for nothing against Real," the Italian manager said in a recent interview.
"I don’t know whether it would be enough against them. They are one of the best teams in the world, and to beat them, we will have to give a perfect performance.”
"We went close last time, in Madrid, and were 2-1 up with four minutes to go, but this is not going to be easy.”
"It is a different game, and if we want to beat them, we will have to defend very well. They have three or four players who can decide a game at any moment, and we are going to have to work very hard as a team."
Last time around, City practically went on to throw their lead away against Madrid. The team was looking poised to win the game, but some late defensive lapses saw Madrid get back in, and win the game in the death.
This time around, City will be looking to maintain their defensive line at the back, in order to prevent Madrid from being given any space to exploit in the game.
It is now a wait to see whether City can managed to qualify for the knock out stages or not.
