Mancini not so happy with constantly injured Wayne Bridge
Despite of being a regular starter for the Manchester City side under Mark Hughes at Fulham, Wayne Bridge has managed to fall out of favour with the teams new manager Roberto Mancini. One of the main reasons for the player falling out with the manager are
the constant injuries that he has picked up on his knee, hamstring and groin and as a result he has managed to make only sixteen appearances under the Italian manager.
However Mancini who had been really calm about Bridge being out of action for so long, seems to have finally had it with the player. The manager is reported to have said: “At the end of the Lech Poznan game, Wayne was injured, but now, over the last
three or four days, he is available. It’s very difficult if a player is always injured. It’s very difficult that he can play. It depends on him as he’s always injured and he can’t finish [games]. If he’s available, he is part of the group, but
he has been unlucky. He started in the first game in Salzburg [Sept 16] and, after 70 minutes, he was injured. He played in Poznan and after 70 minutes he got injured. It’s impossible that he can play. But every time he was available, he played. If
he’s available this week, then maybe.”
So far this season, Bridge has managed to play only one complete game for City and that was against Blackpool way back in October. However, some experts feel that the players injuries are more mental than physical, but Mancini has gone on to slam those ideas
by stating that the injures were in fact physical ones and not mental ones. The manager is reported to have said:“No, it’s a physical problem.”

“Always hamstring or groin, but this is a problem for all players, not only for Wayne. If he’s available, he is part of our group.”
Bridge, despite of being a decent player, needs to realize that his time at City might soon come to an end if he doesn’t manage to get back to full fitness more often. City happen to have more than enough players who are capable of filling in for the former
England international and with the manager realizing this fact, it appears as though the manager is trying to signal to the player that he needs to get his act straight, or he would end up being another victim of City.
In the past City have gone on to waste numerous football players careers and at the moment all the signs are pointing to the fact that the team will be looking to repeat the same with Bridge’s career.
