Manchester City’s manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 has gone on to urge his team to improve their Champions League form, or they could end up crashing out of the competition early on, once again.
Last season, the Champions of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 had a very terrible run in, in the European cup, as the team failed to really make a mark in the contest.
City crashed out of the group stages, and were then humiliated in the Europa league as well.
This time around, things seem to be a little different, as the team has already gone on to play Real Madrid, and lost only due to a very late http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cristiano-Ronaldo-c9629 goal.
Even though Mancini feels his side have gone on to show signs of improvement this season, the manager feels that there is still a lot of improvement in the team.
"This is the second year for us in the Champions League and the second year that we got the worst group," the Italian told reporters.
"Like we have improved [over the years] in the Premier League, we need time to improve in the Champions League, but we don't have a lot of time - only five more games, and we need to improve quickly."
The City boss then went on to insist that he wasn’t the one who needed to learn how to perform in Europe, but insisted that it was his players who needed to do so.
"I don't need to learn.”
"The Champions League is a difficult competition, but football is the same.”
"The problem is that you are always playing against the best team from another country and every game is difficult.”
"I hope I can improve my record in the Champions League, and I think we have arrived at the time where we can win the Champions League."
City will now be looking to build on their performance against Madrid, as they hope to pick up three points from their upcoming game.
Should the team be able to maintain their focus and avoid giving their opponents a lot of room in front of goal, they could easily claim the win against their opponents.
