Mandaean and Mighty Ambition ruled out of the Qipco 2,000 by owners Godolphin
Godolphin will not be representing their runners in the Qipco 2,000, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday 5th May, 2012. The firm decided that Mandaean and Mighty Ambition will not race in the coming event.
Mandaean, son of Manduro, out of Summertime Legacy, triumphed in two starts of his career.
The three-year-old colt raced as a favourite in the Criterium De Saint-Cloud (Group 1) (2yo Colts & Fillies) (Turf) at Saint-Cloud on 12th November, 2011 and triumphed over the N. Clement trained Brocottes, under the training
of A. Fabre, who trained him until 7th March, 2012.
Mahmood Al Zarooni has trained him since, and he will debut for the renowned trainer on Betfred Dante Stakes at York on 17th May, 2012.
Simon Crisford, who is the racing manager of Godolphin, told the press that:

"Neither will run in the Guineas. Mandaean is going for the Dante - we just kept him in the Guineas to see what the race was like. I think we'll find Mighty Ambition a Listed race somewhere."
Mighty Ambition, the young colt who was whelped on 8th March, 2009, began his career with a terrific victory over Rewarded, as he defeated him by ¾ of a length in the Wedgewood Estates E B F Maiden Stakes (Div I) at Newbury
on 17thSeptember, 2011.
Roger Charlton is not worried about the conditions at Newmarket, as he is willing to run his best horse, Top Offer, in the race.

He told the press that:
"There are no doubts about him running - he'll run whatever the ground. The fact is, we don't know what ground he wants."
Charlton stated that Top Offer didn’t compete at Greenham because of the soft surface of the track, but it will not stop the horse from competing in the Qipco 2,000.

He elaborated on this by stating that he didn’t want the runner to have a difficult race a couple of weeks before the Guineas took place.
The three-year-old son of Dansili, out of mare Zante, succeeded in the first start of his career as he defeated, Pulverize, by 3 ½ lengths in the Don Deadman Memorial European Breeders' Fund Maiden Stakes at Newbury on 12th August,
2011.
