Mandatory Metallica?

It seem like on WEBN 102.7, that there would be a bunch of Metallica songs at 10:00 PM Mon-Thurs. It is Friday at 10:16 and no Metallica. Can anyone tell me the schedule of this "Mandatory Metallica".

  1. Usually on weekends, radio stations switch thier programming to accomodate weekend shows, the fact that there is rarely anyone in the studio, etc.  Since I know 'Mandatory Metallica' is a satellite radio feed that is pre-recorded, I'm sure they vary the size of the block on weekdays.  Generally, stations run on a 'programming scedule' that limits how much and what they can play, and when.  So on weekends, sorry.  No 'Mandatory Metallica'!  (Which is too bad, because I happen to really love that block!)

  2. Probably because someone forgot to put it on more than likely when scheduling the music on the system as most program Monday-Friday.

Mandatory Metallica is not a syndicated show as it's a feature that was originally born on syndicated rock station Z-Rock back in the 1980s and has continued as a popular programming idea on many rock stations across the nation (As far as I know as almost any syndicated show has a website.. and from personal experience it's usually done by the computer or in the earlier days by the DJ or board operator on duty)

Just like on classic rock stations that "Get the Led out (Led Zepplin)", "Brunch with the Beatles" or "Four with Floyd (Pink Floyd)" .. It's a gimmick to get listeners to listen at a certain time a artist that has many popular songs to choose from and play them at a certain time
