Question:

Mane braiding (picture)?

the horse that im taking into a show on sunday has a medium length thin mane. the owner wont let me cut it, and there needs to be something done with it for the show ring because its ugly. i did some hunter braids this morning to see if i could, and it works just by using rubberbands and folding it a bunch of times, but since its so long the ends sometimes stick out and some of them stick out in different ways. and the mane isnt long enough for a french braid. is there any way i can make the hunter braids look neater?

  1. it looks pretty good to me =) BEAUTIFUL horse by the way

  2. Hunter classes are very picky. I could ask your trainer to be sure! But they look ok for a schooling show. The should be fine. By the way cute horse!!!!!!!!

  3. the braids you have really dont look that bad I would make more of them and closer

  4. You're hunter braid doens't look that bad. I'd try to make them closer and possibly a bit smaller. See if you can't find some videos on youtube or google.

  5. They don't look bad but make each braid only 2 to 3 inches wide you should end up with 15 or so on his neck.  the smaller the braid the worse it is.

Hairspray the you know what out of the ends that stick out on stick them to somewhere to keep them from sticking out

hope this helps good luck at the show

  6. They dont look bad. I know of a how-to video for button braids but not hunter braids.

  7. maybe you could try this!??! it looks really neat to me i'm going to try with my boy
