Mangesh Naik has been selected as the Head of Administration and Finance of the Oceanic Football Confederation.
He was welcomed by the OFC employees as the new member of the family.
Mangesh Naik will be working alongside accountant Richard Otter and accounts assistant Pualani Jacquemet. The OFC will be looking forward to increase the number of programmes.
The upcoming OFC Futsal Championship will be the first event he will be overseeing after his hiring. He has been associated with the Federation in past. He completed a six-week audit course of the confederation under Lynch Phibbs.
Mangesh Naik has a vast experience in handling financial and audit-related matters in a variety of companies. The 57-year-old Mangesh is no doubt a valuable entry for the OFC. He will be managing all the financial matters of the confederation.
The General Secretary of the OFC said, “We are looking forward to the OFC Futsal Championship kicking off next week in Fiji plus the Pacific Games in New Caledonia this August which marks the first stage of OFC’s qualification process for the 2014 FIFA World
Cup. OFC General Secretary Tai Nicholas says Naik will be a valuable addition to the team.”
Mangesh has a vast knowledge of Football and with the upcoming Futsal championship, he will learn a lot from it. With the support and coordination of Mangesh, the OFC officials are hoping for the confederation to make its way up to the highest playing standards
in the region.
The OFC is not as developed as the UEFA or Asian Football Confederation, but still they are striving hard to play a vital role in the football and Futsal circuit.
Mangesh will also be working for the financial assistance programme for the member associations of the region.
The Futsal championship starting next week is of high importance as the winner of the championship will feature in the 2012 FIFA Futsal Championship.
Mangesh on his appointment said, “This role presents a new and exciting challenge for me. I'm looking forward to leading the OFC finance team while also working closely with our member associations through the Financial Assistance Programme.”
