how are mangroves threatened and what are the measures taken by the government to prevent it?

  1. The thing that threatens mangrove forests most is aquaculture, shrimp and fish farming in coastal regions of tropics and subtropics. Things have improved somewhat because shrimp farms have been essentially wiped out by a disease called "white spot disease".


  2. Large mangroves trees are removed because they look unsightly but they hold the soil and are a safe haven for small fish and creatures.  Most governments do not see the value in this tree, that is why we have so much erosion when they are removed.
