Question:

Mannn i am so lazy?

My house is a total mess i dont shower every day just cos i am lazy and it takes too long to shower then dry and get dressed etc i can go like a week with no shower and i hardly ever brush my teeth ...... I REALLY want to be the total opposite of that ... how can i do it how can i change things around?

  1. Maybe you're depressed. Your doctor might be able to help you & get you on some medicine.


  2. What you describe sounds like the classic symptoms of depression.  Until you address the depression with either medication or counseling, or maybe even both, you won't be successful with changing your habits.

    If you still want to try on your own, you could begin by setting small goals for yourself -- don't by unreasonable or unrealistic.  Start out small, just a few such as "clean bathroom and straighten living room", and as each goal is accomplished, add another.  By setting small goals, you will be able to complete the task easily, and before long your house will be clean.  Do the same with your personal hygiene.  Continue this for a while, maybe a few weeks, then maybe start exercising.  Once again, start small and work your way up.

    Just some suggestions.

  3. Well your problem is common, because it's not that you don't want to do your daily hugiene its that your not used to doing so. What I would suggest is that you make yourself do those things or find ways too look forward too it, that way you will do your daily hugiene like your suppose to.

  5. No one is born lazy. In the same way that you made bad choices about being slothful and indolent, you can start making good choices about self-respect. For one thing, keeping yourself clean is going to mean you can start having friends again instead of putting them off with poor personal hygiene.

    If you feel you don't have time in the morning, take a bath in the evening instead. Make it pleasant with aromatherapy and soft music. Let it be an incentive to have clean sheets on the bed to slip in between. Get a battery-operated toothbrush and some good-tasting toothpaste. Don't forget to brush your tongue as well. When you feel cleaner you will be healthier and like yourself better, and will have better motivation to go get some help with your depression problem.

  6. You have to force yourself. Resign yourself to the fact that you want to be cleaner. Take small steps. Start with two showers. Move up to three. Set a time for each thing you want cleaner....

    Get off yer butt and do it.

  7. You need to have something to look forward to - MAKE yourself get up and go look for a job -that will give you something to get up and get ready for.  make plans with friends,  go for a walk - anything to get you up and out of bed.  You may need anti-depressants as well - they can work wonders when you aren't being yourself.  check into it.  making the first phone call is the hardest - just make up your mind and do it.
