Manny Pacquiao: Floyd Mayweather makes his own rules because he does not want to fight – Boxing news
Due to the increasing rivalry between the top pound-for-pound fighters in the world, Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr, Pac-Man was asked during a promotional media event for his upcoming fight with Juan Manuel Marquez, to share his thoughts regarding
Mayweather and the drug testing issue.
The Filipino Star, who is an eight-division world champion and the current World Boxing Organisation Welterweight World Champion (Super Champion), stated Mayweather always makes his own rules because he does not want to fight him.
“He’s just creating his own rules because he does not want to fight. The real champion, if you’re a real fighter, you’ll fight anybody,” said Pacquiao, as reported by Fight Hub TV.
Pacquiao, who is a winner of 53 of his 58 professional fights (2 Draws), with 38 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, told the media Mayweather is no one to make rules as he remarked there is a proper commission in boxing which makes rules for everyone.
“We have a commission, right? We have a commission in boxing and we have to follow the rules,” stated Pacquiao. “Why does he create his own regulation? He’s not a commission.”
Meanwhile, Pacquiao’s trusted advisor, Michael Koncz, revealed they wanted to fight but were not allowed by the commission.
Koncz added, “On one of the fights we offered to do tests 14 days up to the fight and the day after the fight. Actually we offered on the day of the fight but the commission said ‘no, it’s not sterile in the facilities’.”
The undefeated American legend, Floyd ‘Pretty Boy’ Mayweather, recently secured a controversial fourth-round knockout over Vicious Victor Ortiz last month and he is still on a look out for an opponent. Mayweather said he will fight anyone in 147 pounds division.
Therefore, possibility of a Pacquiao-Mayweather super-fight is pretty much there.
However, all that is left to see is whether these two boxing’s best will come close to each other or not because their bout is certainly going to be one of the most lucrative bouts in the history, as it will decide who the real pound-for-pound king is.
