Manny Pacquiao: I am so happy and very determined to work hard in training every day – Boxing News
Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley were present at a press conference in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand, along with their trainers. Both the pugilists spoke about their training camps and expressed their excitement for Saturday. Pacquiao even spoke about his
religious turn in life, calling it his personality. According to Pacquiao, his religious duties do not distract him from fighting. However, trainer Freddie Roach admitted that religion has indeed become a distraction for Pacquiao, but it is still better than
his previous distractions.
Pacquiao said, “I’m so happy and excited and very determined to work hard in training every day. There are no more distractions.” He further said, “This is better for my personality, for my eternal life. I know if I die today that I will go to heaven. The
thing is I’m not worried about what it is going to do to my work. I’m worried about my life. I have a job to do in the ring and I will do it.”
After Pacquiao was done, Roach said, “As distractions go, this is a better one than the ones he had before.”
Bradley said that he is working hard and he will give in everything he has to win. Pacquiao currently stands with 54 wins, 3 losses, 3 ties and 38 knockouts in his portfolio, whereas Bradley is an unbeaten fighter. The match will be held on June 9, this
Saturday, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. It will be Pacquiao’s WBO welterweight title defence.
Some months back, Freddie Roach has expressed his concern regarding Manny’s lifestyle changes, saying that the Filipino is more interested in religion than fighting. Back then, Roach stated that Pacquiao is considering to retire soon since God does not want
him to fight or hurt anyone.
Even the Filipino himself said that God came in his dream, directing him to quit the sport as he has achieved more than enough.
For now, Pacquiao believes that his fight against Bradley will be his test. According to the Filipino, he is 100% ready to beat Bradley, but the results will be whatever God wants.
