Manny Pacquiao accused of using steroids against Oscar de la Hoya – Boxing News
Pound-for-pound king, Manny Pacquiao, is facing fresh accusations of using steroids in his fight against Oscar de la Hoya, which was held back in 2009.
An unidentified former sparring partner and professional fighter have claimed that he injected Pacquiao with steroids before his fight against Oscar de le Hoya. The source stated Pacquiao used steroids to gain mass, in order to fight in a higher weight division.
The source claimed, “Manny knew there was no way he could beat Oscar. But there was also no way he was gonna pass up the biggest fight, the biggest opportunity of his life. This was it, the big time. Manny never looked at using drugs as cheating. It was
just a way of evening things up a little. Oscar was naturally much bigger and stronger than Manny. Of course, on the night we were all shocked. He beat the living c**p out of De La Hoya."
Fighting Pride of Philippines, Pacquiao is the only man who has beaten Oscar de la Hoya. Pacquiao already has world titles at the Flyweight, Super-Bantamweight, Super-Featherweight and Lightweight divisions.
However, the win over De La Hoya marked a new era for him and made him a multi-million pound brand. It also was the start for him to become a potential all-time greatest fighter.
The dubious source that has been spread throughout various websites states that he used to give Pacquiao a jab in the upper outer quarter of his butt cheek once a week in the locker room of the Wild Card Gymnasium.
Pacquiao, the 32-year-old boxer, who is emphatically regarded as the greatest boxer currently in action, has totally denied the report. He responded saying that he has never taken any steroids, HGH or any banned performance enhancing drug.
The boxer added that his success in the ring is due to his hard work and belief in God. He also added he has passed everyone in his fights including his recent one, which was against ‘Sugar’ Shane Mosley.
The champ concluded and assured that he will fight for his hard-earned name and reputation in the sport.
