Manny Pacquiao agrees to Floyd Mayweather’s condition of random drug testing – Boxing news
The eight-division world champion and the current World Boxing Organisation Welterweight World Champion (Super Champion), Manny Pacquiao, has agreed to abide by the conditions of the five-division world champion and the current World Boxing Council Emeritus
World Super Welterweight Champion, Floyd Mayweather, who insisted Pacquiao should agree for an Olympic-style drug testing.
The Fighting Pride of Philippines, Manny Pacquiao, who has won 53 of his 58 professional fight (2 Draws) including 38 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, previously denied Mayweather, as the Filipino star stated giving blood sample just an hour
before the fight can affect his performance.
However, now a possibility of the most eagerly awaited bout between the two pound-for-pound greats, Manny ‘Pac-Man’ Pacquiao and Floyd ‘Pretty Boy’ Mayweather, seems pretty much possible, as the promoter Bob Arum revealed Pacquiao has agreed to the random
drug testing provided the drug testing is done by some neutral organisation.
“We have agreed in the Pacquiao camp to unlimited random testing done by a responsible, neutral organization,” Arum said.
The 34-year-old undefeated American legend Mayweather, who holds a record of winning all of his 41 professional fights, with 25 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, also wanted Pacquiao to agree to US Anti-Doping Agency but Pacquiao wants some other
organisation as he does not believe it to be a neutral organisation.
Arum remarked, “We don't believe USADA (United States Anti-Doping Agency) is a neutral organization. I don't think anybody's test is as vigorous as the test administered by the Olympic Organization.”
In the end Arum declared if Mayweather agrees for the drug testing to be done by any other neutral organisation then the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight will happen in 2012.
“If Mayweather says he's agreeable to us, then we can have the Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight next year,” added Arum.
Let’s hope Mayweather agrees to Pacquiao now as the bout is one of the most eagerly awaited bouts in the sport because people desperately want to see the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world taking on each other.
