Manny ‘Pac-Man’ Pacquiao, who is an eight-division world champion and the current World Boxing Organisation Welterweight World Champion (Super Champion), has called Juan Manuel Marquez a genius for tactics, as the Filipino star believes Marquez is being
nice to him in order to avoid extra punishment on the fight night.
Pacquiao and Marquez will meet each other in their highly anticipated trilogy fight on November 12, 2011 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.
The Fighting Pride of Philippines, Pacquiao, who is a winner of 53 of his 58 professional fights (2 Draws), with 38 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, turned up the heat after he claimed his opponent is using his personality to beat him.
However, the Filipino star insisted he is not worried because he knows what the Mexican is up to.
“Marquez is the smartest guy I have fought recently,” Pacquiao said. “He is a genius. You know why? It is because he is trying to use my personality. He knows I am a nice person, so he thinks that if he is very nice and respectful to me before the fight
then I will go easy on him and will not knock him out.”
In the end Pacquiao, who is currently rated as the number one pound-for-pound fighter in the world, hinted a knockout win over the Mexican Dinamita, who is rated as the fifth best pound-for-pound in the world.
“I know what people want from me in the future and what they want to see now,” Pacquiao said. “They want to see me knock out Marquez because it is exciting for boxing when there are knockouts.”
Pacquiao and Marquez, who is the current WBA, WBO and The Ring Lightweight World Champion, have met two times before and both times they have had a controversial ending to their fight. Therefore, their upcoming bout is one of the most eagerly awaited bouts
of this year which might also become ‘Fight of the year’.
Let’s see if Pacquiao can really beat Marquez in a convincing way because their concluding fight is going to decide who the overall winner amongst them is.
