Manny Pacquiao graces Jimmy Kimmel Live
Seven-division titlist Manny Pacquiao stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live on ABC recently to promote his upcoming November 13 fight with Antonio Margarito and discuss boxing going-ons.  “Pacman” also had time to sing John Lennon’s classic “Imagine,” and introduce
his new brand of cologne, MP7.
The Filipino congressman indicated what MP7 stood for, telling Kimmel: “That’s seven world titles,” referring to the number of division world titles Pacquiao has accumulated since turning professional.
Kimmel joked in return, “So, will there be an MP8 then when you fight on November 13?"
“That's another brand," Pacquiao replied.
Pacquiao is currently in the thick of his training at trainer Freddie Roach’s Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles.  Should he beat Margarito for the WBC junior middleweight title he will be awarded his eighth-division title, a feat hitherto unprecedented in the
sport.
Pacquiao concluded his appearance on Kimmel with a touching but also humorous rendition of “Imagine” with comedian Will Ferrell.  Pacquiao managed to get wide-sweeping cheers from his fans, especially when he hit a particularly high note in the second verse
of the song.
In an interview with Fanhouse.com, Pacquiao’s top advisor Michael Koncz confirmed that initially “Pacman” didn’t quite feel like singing, but after meeting Ferrell was persuaded to participate because of the comedian’s good nature and the fun Pacquiao concluded
the performance would bring.
The appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live marked the third occasion for Pacquiao, who appeared first in November of last year and a second time in March to promote his fight with Joshua Clottey.
Reflecting on the audience for the show, Koncz said: “The crowd was very good. But surprisingly, this time around, it was a mostly white crowd. The last two times we were there, the crowd was predominantly Filipino.  But this time, it was totally the opposite.
Nevertheless, they loved him just the same."
