Manny Pacquiao helps flood victims with his own money – Boxing News
Manny Pacquiao, the legendary Filipino boxer who took the sport to new heights in his country, is back to the Philippines, using the money he earned from his clash with Bradley to help people. Pacquiao planned to stay in the USA for vacations with his family
but as soon as he heard of the flood in his hometown, he rushed back. As of now, Pacquiao is in Sarangani, Philippines, helping the victims with supplies, shelter and cash.
When asked about the situation, the former WBO welterweight champion said, “All these are coming from my personal pockets. My gifts for you from the proceeds of my recent fight with Timothy Bradley. I told my children I have to rush home to help the people
in my district. This is part of my responsibility as a public servant. I just cut short my family vacation to help my constituents who were affected by the calamity. The province of Sarangani, which I represent, is still without a hospital. That is not right,
and I cannot rest until my province gets the funds to build one.”
Pacquiao also spoke about human trafficking, calling it a curse upon his town. Pacquiao vowed to cease human trafficking at any cost. He concluded saying that he has dedicated his life to spreading biblical lessons to his people.
Pacquiao’s controversial loss to Timothy Bradley on June 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas was a shock to him, his family and his fans. A lot of the Filipino’s fans around the world demanded an inquiry into the results of the fight but the Filipino remained
calm. At the post-fight interview, Pacquiao said that he believed he won the fight. He congratulated Bradley for his hard work and said that we should move forward. Upon his arrival in the Philippines, the Pac-man told his fans to stay calm and accept the
judgement, as there is God’s plan behind it.
For now, Pacquiao’s and his camp are unsure of his next encounter. It can either be against Cotto, Marquez or Bradley. Marquez is ready to face Pacquiao once again after losing twice to him.
