Manny Pacquiao is well conditioned to face Juan Manuel Marquez – Boxing News
Filipino fight sensation Manny Pacquiao is well conditioned for his fight against Mexican rival Juan Manuel Marquez, as revealed by his friend and adviser Michael Koncz. Pacquiao is currently training and sparring at the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles, owned
by his trainer Freddie Roach.
By last week, reports suggested that Roach was not quite happy with Pacquiao’s delay in arriving Los Angeles to start the camp. However, now Koncz reports that Roach is apparently happy with the way Pacquiao has conditioned himself.
Not just Pacquiao, Koncz even registered his thrill over Pacquiao’s new sparring partner Russian fighter Suhrad Shidaev. According to Koncz, he has been a great sparring partner for Pacquiao.
“I will sign him to MP Promotions,” said Koncz for Shidaev, who has fought 225 amateur fights.
According to Koncz, the sparring sessions went excellent, and Pacquiao cleared most of it easily.
“Training went great. Roach was very happy with the conditioning that Manny showed up in,” Koncz added.
Pacquiao ended his third training week last Saturday. It was his first week in Los Angeles, as he previously trained for two weeks in his hometown General Santos City with Buboy Fernandez, his childhood friend and a professional trainer.
Pacquiao will be facing Juan Manuel Marquez on December 8 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. It will be the fourth time both fighters will face off each other in the ring. Pacquiao has already won two out of three fights, with the first one ending up in a tie.
Since his previous two victories over Marquez were via unanimous decision and majority decision, Pacquiao now wants to end the Mexican legend via knockout. Considering the fact that the Filipino has not knocked any of his last three opponents, it is time
for him to do so. According to Roach, Pacquiao is determined to give it hard to Marquez this time.
On the other hand, even Marquez is sure-footed that this time he will knockout the Filipino by hook or by crook. This fight is important for Marquez, as it will decide his fate against the Filipino sensation.
