Manny Pacquiao promises win to Freddie Roach – Boxing News
After four consecutive losses in his portfolio, Hall of Famer trainer Freddie Roach his losing his grip on being the number one trainer in the world. However, his all time favourite fighter, Manny Pacquiao has promised him a win this December against Juan
Manuel Marquez.
Pacquiao had a tweet for ‘Master’ Roach yesterday. “I promise Master @FreddieRoach that the winning streak will resume on Dec. 8,” read Pacquiao’s tweet.
Pacquiao will be facing Marquez on December 8 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. It will be the fourth fight between the two. Pacquiao currently has the lead on the scoreboard, and even if Marquez wins, he will not be able to match Pacquiao’s previous two wins.
The first fight between the two ended up in a tie and the next two were won by the Filipino. In other words, right now the score is 2 for Pacquiao and Marquez for nil.
Earlier this month, Pacquiao said in a press conference that he desperately needs to score a knockout over Juan Manuel Marquez in order to erase doubts fans have for him. It should be noted here that Pacquiao has won via majority decision and unanimous decision
over Marquez but never a knockout. Some analysts and fans believe Marquez won all three fights but the judges were unable to score the fight for him.
Even Marquez thinks he has won all three times over Pacquiao. For this very reason, Pacquiao wants to show the world that he is the better man by putting the Mexican to the canvas this time.
“I want to erase the last fight and any doubts in number four. I will focus this time. I have to study and train using new techniques and strategy and apply techniques never used in my previous fights. I will fight and train like the old Manny; the 25-year-old
Manny,” said Pacquiao who understands that a decision win against Marquez will not work this time.
“I want this fight to be different from the last one. I want a win that isn’t close like the last three. It has to be a decisive victory,” he added.
