Manny Pacquiao recovers from Jet Lag and is finally sparring – Boxing News
Filipino pound for pound king Manny Pacquiao is back at the Wild Card Gym. Pacquiao was struck with jet lag past Wednesday and he could not complete his training. Even yesterday, the WBO welterweight champion missed his sparring session, which caused a confusion
among fans and his camp. However, today, Pac-man entered the gym and sparred for eight hours straight, shocking everyone with his capabilities.
On Pacquiao’s recovery, his adviser Mike Koncz said, “no big deal. He’s taken a day-off before, remember. What Manny did was sleep until 5 p.m. so he’s just resting.”
Manny Pacquiao is currently being considered the favourite for the fight, while his opponent Timothy Bradley stands with a rating of 3 is to 1 underdog. Therefore, Pacquiao needs to be in good shape in order to defeat the undefeated American pugilist.
Since Bradley is a tough fighter and way younger to Pacquiao, most fans are worried that due to such training lags in Manny’s routine, the Filipino might suffer in the ring. However, his trainer, Freddie Roach assures that Pacquiao is 60% ready for the fight
and soon he will be good enough to not only defeat Bradley but also to defeat him via knockout.
For now, Pacquiao will train in Roach’s Wile Card Gym until the big day comes. Pacquiao’s title will be on the line against Bradley, therefore the Pac-man is making sure he is up to the mark. On the other hand, Timothy Bradley thinks defeating Pacquiao is
no big deal since the Filipino has now lost his stint.
Both the pugilists are training hard to make sure they make it worthwhile for their fans. It should be noted here that this will be Pacquiao’s first fight after eight months. He defeated Juan Manuel Marquez last year with via unanimous decision. However,
many analysts were of the view that Manny was not good enough in the ring. For now, Manny needs to prove the fact that he still is the number one pound for pound fighter by knocking out Timothy Bradley in the ring.
If Pacquiao loses, he will not only lose his title but also his prestige.
