Manny Pacquiao says he doesn’t need Floyd Mayweather either – Boxing news
The Fighting Pride of Philippines, Manny Pacquiao, has responded to the five-division world champion and the current World Boxing Council World Welterweight Champion, Floyd Mayweather, who recently said that he does not need Pacquiao for a fight.
The Pretty Boy Mayweather, who last Saturday, September 17, knocked out Vicious Victor Ortiz in the fourth round at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, made a minimum of $25 million from his victory. After the match, Mayweather told the media that
he doesn’t really need to fight Pacquiao for a big payday.
“I don't need Pacquiao,” Mayweather said. “With or without Pacquiao, every time Floyd Mayweather goes out there, he's going to make over $70 million.”
Manny ‘Pac-Man’ Pacquiao, who is an eight-division world champion and the current World Boxing Organisation Welterweight World Champion (Super Champion), has also responded to the brash American by saying he doesn’t need him either.
Pacquiao, who is currently rated as the number one pound-for-pound fighter in the world by most sporting news and boxing websites, stated he is pretty satisfied with his career and if Mayweather doesn’t want to fight him, he don’t need him either.
“Ako rin, I don’t need him either,” said Pacquiao. "With us and shown that we accomplish in boxing, I also satisfied my career," Pacquiao said. "Although we do not fight, I have no problem."
"Okay naman, legal turn, I did not foul Mayweather," said the boxing congressman. "Too bad I we call sportsmanship, not s'ya nun."
"Perhaps Jesus Ortiz, he's trying to be nice. So Mayweather not s'ya befriend so that's what happened, " Pacquiao said. "There was also failure Ortiz there."
Mayweather was formerly rated as the number one pound-for-pound boxer in the word but he was removed from the ranking due to his inactivity. Therefore, Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather is the most eagerly awaited bout in the sport. The fight will clearly
show who the best pound-for-pound fighter really is.
The 32-year-old Filipino star, Pacquiao, is currently preparing for a mega showdown with the Mexican Dinamita, Juan Manuel Marquez, on November 12, at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
