Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez 4 – Fight Preview
So it is finally here! The fourth match between Filipino fight king Manny Pacquiao and legendary Mexican fighter Juan Manuel Marquez. There is no doubt that this fight is going to be yet another enthralling fight, and it might not just end the way fans are
expecting it to. Since both fighters complement each other’s styles well, both of them will have trouble trying to defeat the other dominantly.
The last fight between the two was held last year in November, when the Pac-man defeated Marquez via majority decision. The fight, like their previous encounters, was pretty close, and most fans believed Marquez was the victor. It was the first time the
crowd booed for Pacquiao. Pacquiao has not defeated Marquez yet in a dominant manner.
The first fight between the two ended up in a tie while the second one ended up in a unanimous decision to Pacquiao. Strangely, Marquez is the only fighter the Pac-man has not defeated with his might. Since Marquez is an outstanding counter puncher, Pacquiao
finds it hard to beat him.
This time, both fighters are determined to end this saga once and for all. Pacquiao believes he needs to prove his mettle to the fans against Marquez, while the Mexican believes he has already won thrice but this time he has to make it more obvious via knockout.
“I can do it, and close the series of fights with Pacquiao with a perfect finale....a series that is already a classic in boxing. ... In my career, five times I got up from the canvas to show that I am the best. I'll look for the knockout with experience
and intelligence,” said Marquez in a press conference recently.
On the other hand, Pacquiao wants to do the same to Marquez, hoping he would change things this time.
“I want to erase the doubt of the last three fights. There's so many people still asking if I won the fights. I think to myself, 'Something is wrong. I have to do it again.' This time, I will train hard to put this fight up in the history of boxing. I want
to make this fight short. I want to knock him out,” said Pacquiao.
Truly, Pacquiao was the better man all three times in the ring, but for some reason he never could lead the showdown. Even thought judges thought he won last time, most fans and analysts tagged Marquez the winner.
Now, it is the fourth time both they will clash. A victory for Marquez is important to square off his side. For Pacquiao, a split decision win or a majority win will not work this time. The Filipino needs to knockout Marquez if he wants to cement his legacy.
Overall, this fight is more important to Marquez than Pacquiao.
