Manny Pacquiao vs. Timothy Bradley will be announced soon – Boxing news
Bob Arum, promoter of Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley, had a meeting over the weekend with managers of both the fighters in order to matters pertaining to the super-brawl between the current WBO Welterweight Champion Manny Pacquiao and the current WBO
Light Welterweight Champion Timothy Bradley.
The fight was announced earlier this week and is scheduled for June 9, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. However, the final approval from Manny is still pending.
Bob Arum, the man behind most of the mega boxing events, has ensured fans that they will soon see Manny Pacquiao in again. Previously, all were hopeful of a possible bout between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. but it never materialised.
Instead, things got quite hot when Floyd offered Mayweather a 60/40 split, which according to Pac-man was not justified. Later on, came in rumours of a fourth fight of Manny with Juan Manuel Marquez, which were again quashed by the authorities. As of now,
Bob Arum has announced the possibility of a fight between the Filipino pride Manny and the American fighter Timothy Bradley.
Bob Arum, commenting on his role of negotiating with both the sides, said, “It can be difficult dealing with a guy so many time zones away in the Philippines but I feel very good about this and think I’ll be in a position to announce something by [Tuesday].
I just have to get all the ducks in a row. I just need a complete sign-off from Manny.”
It should be noted here that this bout will see Timothy Bradley moving up to 147 from 140 in order to face Manny. While Bob Arum seems excited and at the same time exhausted with all the work he has to put in, Manny seems least bothered of his next fight.
Since the last year (2011) we have been hearing rumours about talks between the Mayweather camp and Pacquiao camp for a possible fight, but when it came down to the real deal, both fighters were seen uninterested which definitely was a turn off for fans.
The world was waiting for the super-bout between Mayweather and Pacquiao and now fans will have to watch Mayweather taking on Cotto while Manny will take on Bradley.
