  1. As a Marlin fan,I see it happening. The talks with the Redsox and Marlins have now become much more serious and I think the chances are great.

  2. I don't think that it will happen.  Not to say it couldn't.  I still think they will work out a three way trade where the Marlins get Manny, the Pirates get some minor leaguers and the Red Sox get Bay.  It would be weird seeing Manny in a Marlins or Pirates uniform.

EDIT: I was right!  Kind of.  Three team trade with Boston getting Bay and Pirates getting prospects.  Just not with the Marlins.

  3. well that is part of the three way trade proposed..but idk if Bay could produce for a team where people actually care about your record

  4. Well the Pirates are not getting Manny so there is no concern about taking on his salary.  The Pirate management also claims that they are NOT salary dumping, but making baseball trades.  I wish that was true.  They have nearly the worst pitching in baseball and do have some prospects for the outfield, so that's why Nady and Bay were/are on the block.  But I never quite get the idea of selling your proven quality players under the "banner of building from within."

  5. Why would the Pirates do this?  They are trying to dump salary not take it on.

  6. if i were a redsox fan i would be ready to riot against theo epstein.

you are trading a future hall of famer for somebody who is gonna hit .275 and have 25 homeruns a season at best

it looks like its gonna happen though

  7. I hope it happens too. I say maybe early afternoon today.

  8. Im extremely glad Manny is out of Fenway. He has been a cancer for a while now. jason Bay is a young guy with a great batting average. hes going to do great. Dodgers can have Manny. They got all the Bean Town rejects anyways.

  9. If only the Pirates were getting Ramirez, it would be a good trade on this side too... But, the Pirates will never be a major league club again, so they'll work out a deal where they can get some prospects... so they can develop them to trade to you guys at a future date.

  10. I'm going to say as a Red Sox fan, I hope this doesn't happen. I really don't see it happening, honestly.

  11. High chance, although you miss your clutch hitter who makes waves, you do get a decent hitter who is not a distraction. Most likely, you will never replace his skills at the plate but you even have to admit that they were erratic or some say when he felt like using them even
