Manny Ramirez in Boston?

Though Manny being Manny can not always lead to laughs, he is a big part in the lineup.

Since he is in his last year of the great contract he signed years ago do you think he will be staying in boston for at least next year.

More than a yes and no answer please.

  1. THE REST OF THIS SEASON YES, NEXT SEASON I AM NOT SURE.

  2. At this point I really don't know. There are some Pros and Cons to Manny. The bad things with Manny is how he acts and his lack of hustle on the field. But he is also a wicked slugger who can come through with a hit at the right time. I think if Manny does go were gonna need a player who can throw up the same stats (or better). If he stays tho boston may have negitative media attention for the rest of the year

  3. My thought is that they keep him the rest of the season, then let him go in free agency. If they offer him arbitration, they will get two first round draft picks in compensation from the team that eventually signs him. There are many cheap left fielders that are available (Adam Dunn, Pat Burrell, etc.). In addition, the Red Sox could also add one of the top pitchers (Sabathia, Sheets) and still stay around the $20 million they would have owed Manny. If this was the 28 year old Manny, I would say pick up the option, but for a 37 year old Manny, $20 million is too high a price.

  4. No, as much as I want him back, the front office has had enough of him and will not pick up his option at the end of the season. Idiots apparently don't like having the best hitter in the past 30 years on their team. (And yes, i know more goes into the decision than just that, I'm just saying)
