Manny Ramirez to the Yankees in 2009?

Question

OK guys hear me out on this one.

1. He wants revenge against the Red Sox.

2. Still a great player and a Left Fielder which the Yankees need next yr.

3. A big bat to protect A-Rod which they don't have.

4. Yankees have a ton of money coming off old contracts (Damon, Giambi, Mussina, Matsui, Abreu, Pettite)

5. He gets along with Alex Rodriguez.

6. He's originally from New York City (Washington Heights).

I still don't think it will happen, but what do you think?

I was watching this pre-game Dodger thing and he was being interviewed, and when he was asked how he like Los Angeles, he said he wanted to retire there. So who knows..

Damon and Matsui have another year left with them(2009), the others you mention are leaving unless they make deals.

Left field will be Nader. Manny would be DH. I seriously doubt the Yankees want Manny. NY will not put up with his attitude.

As a Sox fan, I would love to see the Yanks invest 100 million dollars on a 37 year old outfielder.  The added bonus would be the Yanks losing two draft picks to the Dodgers for such an idiotic move.  I doubt the Ca$hman would do this, but he might not even be the GM after the Yanks don't make the playoffs this year.

It Probably might not happen depending on what he asks.Plus the yankees wont want to sign a 36 year old (soon to be 37)outfielder who has to run alot because of what happened to posada but maybe the yankees will be willing to  get him to back up a rod like you said but yust dont expect him to be a 40HR 150 RBI man he was h**l just be a 25HR 100RBI guy

I would not be surprised at all to see that happen, I just wish he would stay out of the A.L. It will be nice this year to not have to contend with the Red Sox

It would never happen, because Yankee fans (like me) would never really accept Manny Ramirez as a Yankee.  Some unfaithful fans might even switch to another team because of their hatred towards him.
