Question:

Manny being Manny, in LA

Alright, I'm a huge Sox fan. I wanted Manny out after these past few months, and even in 2004 he pissed a lot of people off... but his skill redeemed himself then. Anyways as we all know he was traded to LAD, and he said "I love LA! I want to finish here!" Now a week later he wants to go to the Yanks next season to "punish" the sox. But first off, did you see him last night? Joe didn't give him a fist pound after his nice double, so he assumed he was finished for the night, and went to the locker room. I feel bad for LAD fans because of how oblivious their management is. Manny is nothing but a hired gun, and if you don't reward him after he does a good thing, he gets upset... he's like a child. My question goes out to LAD fans, how do you feel about him? I know he is good, I watched/rooted for him for 8 long years, but he took a p**s when his whole team went out on the field, and made them look stupid. So what are your thoughts on Manny, the next month and a half as a Dodger, and will he sign with the Yanks next year?

  1. His double came in the third inning, he didn't go back into the locker room until the top of the ninth... So I don't know where this fist pound thing is coming from.

I really don't care if he signs with the Yankees, I am worried about this year not next year. So long as he keeps hitting, I'll be fine. The fans love him and his team mates are getting along with him, so I don't see why everyone is still talking about his days in Boston.

Edit: What tension, everyone was laughing, lol

Edit again: No offense, but shouldn't you just be happy he is out of Boston and you don't have to deal with him and his ways? You guys got what you wanted, him traded and a great replacement in Jason Bay.

  2. I'm in LA.

Yes, Manny is indeed merely a hired gun.

Boston is paying his salary so the Dodgers are using him for free.

He sold more than 30,000 additional seats when he was just signed.

The Dodgers are starting to sell souvenir "manny "dredlock" wigs for $25 a pop.

Number 99 jerseys are sold in droves.

He is batting well over 400 since he came to LA.

We're using him to get to the World Series.

After that we don't care because the Dodgers will never pay what he wants.

We also don't care if he signs as a Yankee. That's the AL.

Today's ball players are a commodity, like cellphones and computers. You use them for a short time then discard them for the new model.
