Manny for Teixeira?

Question

I wouldv'e thought this trade would be common sense.

- The Braves have been seeking a good LF for about 2 years now. The BoSox want Manny out of there and Manny has wanted out of Boston for quite some time now. Manny and Chipper would be a D-E-A-D-L-Y 1, 2 punch. Also, Coco Crisp would be a nice fit in ATL.

- Rumors were going around that Boston wanted Teixeira as a replacement for Big Papi. However, he is back from his injury. I still think they could use Teixeira though. I mean he's just better than Youkilis and Kev would be a great guy to have in the playoffs as a pinch hitter. Stick him at DH, 1st, or 3rd. Also, Will Ohman could solve the Sox pen problems.

Braves Get: Manny Ramirez and Coco Crisp.

Red Sox Get: Mark Teixeira and Will Ohman.

Who thinks this trade could happen or that this should have already been done.

You said you're a Braves fan, so I guess forgot that the Braves don't put up with attitude? Coco Crisp is a punk, and Manny Ramirez pushes old men to the floor and talks on his cellphone while his team is playing on the field. I, as a lifetime Braves fan, don't want either of those two. I'd rather just take the draft picks for Teixeira. We have a LF in the minors who is supposed to be amazing. He needs at least another year in all likelihood before he hits the majors, and his name is Jason Heyward. I'm fine just bridging the gap until he gets here.

Plus, my apologies, but the Braves are a NL team. Defense tends to matter in the NL a lot more (except for the Marlins apparently). Especially with the Braves. Manny is an awful fielder. No way would I take this trade. Let's just make an effort to re-sign Tex and Ohman at the end of the year if we can't get someone like Conor Jackson out of it.

I don't think anyone is really willing to get Manny Ramirez. I hear teams don't like his personality and stuff like that. I don't think teams will bite. But I guess some team, would. It isn't like a Barry Bonds deal or anything where absolutely no one will take him.

I am Yankee fan obviously, but this trade has two chances of happening. Slim and none. Slim is out of town on vacation.

NO WAY the Red Sox give up Manny during the season. He truly is a great hitter and clutch performer.

I think this trade is alright because as a Yankee fan I want Boston to lose. Anyway, I think that might happen Boston's bullpen has been a real problem and need someone like Will Ohman to come in during the seventh or eighth and setup Papelbon. Teixeira might be a good fit in at first but, what if he decides to leave after next year and Manny has a breakout year and starts behaving(who are we kidding). This should have been done when Manny made that hilarious play in LF in LA. Might be a trade that could help the Sox out. But, remember Manny has a no trade clause in his contract so unless the Sox can trade him some way then it is a no right now.

The Red Sox would have two gold glove winning first baseman, and only two outfielders, while the Braves would no longer have an experienced first baseman. So no.

me personally i would never  trade for manny ramirez no matter what. he is 36 has knee problems and is a huge goof. he is such a mess up that they have to name his mess ups "manny being manny" yea right. his production has stopped from 40 to 30 to now barely 20. meanwhile teixiera is 28, 8 years younger than manny and has many more years and more production. to add to it i dont think the red sox would trade coco. he is a speed threat as well as a great fielder. also, why do you act like the chipper teixiera isn't a good 1-2 punch. teixiera is still a great hitter and has never stopped being one.

it really doesnt make much sense, the braves will only get rid of teixeira if they are selling, and they wouldnt sell teixeria to get a guy that costs more

If the Braves pick up Manny, that means im going from a part-time to full time Cards fan.....Who cares how much he can help a team out, he is a bad character and i dont want the Braves associated with him.
