im a die hard bosox fan but i cant stand manny he never shuts up and disrespects the team. i know hes great but look at these numbers from 3 yrs ago to know. jason bay is the future and has equal numbers to manny. im pumped. also i heard pirates arent happy w/ prospects so trade Bucholz he stinks anyway

This must be the dumbest trade rumor ever. Manny's options are for $20M in '09 and '10. The Marlins' team payroll is ~$22M this year -- and the Marlins actually compete with payrolls like that. Even if the Red Sox ate part of Manny's salary, he would still be too rich for the Marlins. Do you really believe that the Marlins will almost double their payroll with ONE player? It won't happen.

Well i here that Folrida like what they get, and same with the sox, but the pirates arnt happy they want some all stars not ok players anbd AAA and AA players, so it might not go down. and folrida does not want to give the Red Sox cash.

Yea i heard the only thing holding off the trade is the Pirates because i think they want more prospects or something...It's a bad trade for the Marlins though because their getting a rent a player and don't have the defense or pitching to get to the playoffs or win a World Series...I guess their just trying to do something to get fans to come to games.

ok are you kidding me, if you were a red sox fan then you would know that bucholz is one of the top prospects in the majors, he threw a no hitter his second start and was dominating in the minors. you have to give him time a prospect doesnt just start winning 20 games his rookie year or hitting 50 home runs, like in this case you could compare it to beckett, 2 years ago he was getting crushed and had no controll but he worked on throwing less fastballs and mixing up his stuff and throwing strikes wich resulted in winning 20 games last year, dont hate because you dont know anything.

his arm is almost as good as veriteks.

he gets runners by a mile and the redsox dont have another knuckleball catcher. tim wakefeild is an amzing starter but he would be nothing without a good catcher.
